Super Fantastic Garden Pickings!

I harvested these three pumpkin pie pumpkins to take with us hoping I didn't take them too early.   I didn't want to miss out on the joy of cooking up something with them if I just left them here.   There are quite a few more growing and my son will have his hands full keeping up with this huge garden.   I honestly think he will enjoy it ... he ran out to harvest tomatoes today for a tomato sandwich and some salsa.   I don't think he will miss these three pumpkins, do you?
These pink lilies are in full bloom and they are quite beautiful and uplifting.   Last year I asked if anyone knew the variety and "Surprise Lily" was the response.

I tasted my first Black Krim Tomato today and "Yum"!   As homegrown and delicious as it gets - they are a smaller tomato but they sure do have a great flavor!

Here Frankie is wondering what in the world these large green striped objects are.   Once again I harvested them to take along with us and they are similar to the pumpkin, a winter squash, but these Cushaw Squash are enormous.   You can see Frankie's head and the squash is larger than that so there's a whole lotta squash there!   I understand you cook them up same as the pumpkin and they are very tasty - can't wait to find out first hand.
